VICE Media Group

Project Description

Vice Media group is a worldwide media platform contributed to via offices in 35 countries around the world. The company includes websites, campaigns, filmography, editorials, articles and documentaries that make up an award – winning and original news program that explores current events and stories in depth and in a unique way to educate the youth of the globe.

Studio Photographer Andrew Northover spent three days exploring the Tasmanian wilderness in order to photograph a series of articles for Vice Australia, capturing the darker end of interstate tourism that is often overlooked by weekend jet setters. The photographs provide an insight into an alternative way to travel and experience Australia’s neighbouring island state. The photos were shared alongside a series of stories including the endless search for the Tasmanian Tiger, the deepest caves in Australia and Australia’s first mental asylum turned into a successful restaurant, each published on the Vice News website.
