Originally operating as Crane Crew Services, the business needed an identity that better reflected its specialist expertise in the servicing and maintenance of overhead cranes and hoists. We proposed a slight name change to CRANECREW, this created a more ownable and distinctive brand, while retaining an immediate connection to the industry and the practical, team-based nature of the work.

CRANECREW brand photography and identity applied in an industrial work environment.

The rebrand was designed to elevate the business beyond the perception of a solo small-scale “machine fixer” since the team had experienced growth, and re-establish it as a professional, capable and highly specialised service provider. The visual identity balances industrial strength with technical precision, presenting CRANECREW as a trusted partner equipped to work within complex, safety-critical environments.

At the centre of the identity is an interlocking CC symbol, constructed to suggest engineered components, connection and precise alignment. Its geometric form reflects the mechanical systems CRANECREW works with, while creating a compact and recognisable brand mark.

The colour palette draws from the visual language of the safety industry, using high-visibility yellow against deep navy to create strong contrast and recognition. Rather than relying on predictable industrial clichés, the palette is applied with restraint to give the brand a more contemporary and confident presence.

A supporting graphic language of custom arrows, brackets and directional symbols references the interfaces, controls and operational markings found on crane and hoist equipment. Used across print, digital and apparel, these elements give the identity a distinctive technical character and reinforce the sense of movement, control and engineered accuracy behind the brand.
